This odd little New Year's card with its Halloween elements seems fitting this year.
I have not been as productive as I should have been this year. My genealogy research was popping, so I spent a lot of time on that. This year ended with 18,368 page views, which is an inflated number due to foreign web crawlers, which I suspect are mostly Russians using proxy servers. In any event, the total page views reached was 47,863.
I only produced four posts, plus another is in the draft process.
The most popular post:
R. H. Fry, Merchant of Central Falls, Rhode Island: This post provided details about yet another merchant who was selling Izannah Walker's in 1875. And perhaps, more importantly, it uncovered his use of another period term for her dolls - "stocking head" dolls.
My favorite post:
Mrs. F. H. Hayward, Merchant: Mrs. F. H. Hayward was also selling "stocking head" dolls in 1874, probably Izannah's. She was another successful businesswoman, but she was also a married woman with huge family responsibilities. I was able to track down her store, which still exists in Providence as a restaurant. If any Izannah collectors or creators make it there for lunch, please send me pictures!
I do have a little more research to post and will get to it!
